This set is one of my absolute favorites. The liquitex basics set includes 48 tubes! It’s a great way of experimenting with different colors. You can find which colors you enjoy creating with!

Another favorite of mine is the winsor & netwon galeria acrylic paint. I find that it gives great color payoff while still not breaking the bank! There are various sizes of these paints so you can try out!

Acrylic paint brushes

I’ve experimented with so many different brushes for acrylic painting. I’ve used very cheap and low quality brushes that at the end end up costing me more because I have to replace them so fast.

A few years ago I started using the liquitex basics paint brushes. I am genuinely impressed with how well they have done. I found them to be long lasting, they keep their shape, and they are easy to clean. I also find that they are at a good price point.

There are a couple different sets. I like buying in sets in the beginning to keep cost down and still be able to try out various brush sizes.

The best thing is that Liquitex does make them available for purchase individually.

Canvas

You can buy regular wrapped canvases or flat panel canvases but one of my favorite ways to practice my art is to use canvas paper. I think it’s such a good way to keep cost down especially when you are just starting.

What I do is take the sheet of paper and cut it down to smaller sizes. I try to use the bigger size to break it down into smaller sizes for a couple of reasons.

The first reason is because I don’t particularly like working on big canvases. The second reason is because I can get maybe 20-40 sheets more out of the 10 pages when I cut them down.

I participate in various affiliate programs. That means I make a small commission from any products you purchase using these links. It won’t cost you anything extra.

Thank you!
